I'm not actually entering, because I'm way down here. But you asked. :)
I don't think you need to get too anal about having a blog about one specific topic. I personally like blogs that cover a little bit of everything.
Mad Woman made a good suggestion, blog more often. It will get your readers coming back if you post regularly.
And I don't know if I can enter this either, I'm in Canada. Thought I would give my two-cent opinion anyway!
I think that when you have a blog and you are writing it it is meant to be what you want to write about. Your interests and what you know best. I see that is what you write about. So just be true to yourself and what your feel is enough of yourself to write about. (I hope that made sense).
